Hello Father, Hello Daughter
My interest in photography started with my Dad and his camera. I remember seeing it high up on the closet shelf, coming down for family photos and vacations. I’d point things out for him to photograph and he’d tell me I had a good eye. I loved the magic of seeing his images, which he turned into slides, projected on the wall. When he passed away, his camera became mine. Making photos was a way for me to stay connected to his memory. Writing him letters helped me make sense of how our relationship had changed. This series of images is a result of my journey into grief, family relationships, childhood memories and acceptance.
