photos made fancy

My father's camera lived on the top shelf in the closet, only coming down for vacations and special occasions. Sometimes, I'd point out things for him to photograph and he'd tell me I had a 'good eye'. Afterwards, the photos would get turned into slides. Seeing the images projected on the wall, hearing the whir of the slide projector and the smell of the dust in the air...it was magic.

That camera is now mine. It no longer lives on the top shelf though. I use it to photograph where I live, the places I go, and the people I see. Once the film is developed and printed, I look through the pictures, picking out the ones that seem to want a little bit more.

I individually gold leaf each photo to add to the story that is already there - an intentional merging what was with what could be.

I know. I sound all sorts of artsy woo woo.

I hope you find an image that that speaks to you. A fancy photo to adorn your walls.

Thanks for looking.
